The Middle East is the part of the globe where three prominent religions culminated. Geographically speaking, it is the area that divides the west from the east. There are 15 countries that form the Middle East region. On the north, you have Turkey. The central part has Saudi Arabia, Iraq, and the United Arab Emirates. In the south, you have Yemen and Oman. East of the Persian Gulf is Iran.

Other prominent countries in the region are Bahrain, Israel, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Palestine, Qatar, and Syria. When you travel to this area, you will be overwhelmed by its vibrant culture and old traditions. You will want to learn about its history and heritage. There might be countries which are not safe for tourists, but, there are also several destinations that can offer you a trip to the land of many wonders and birthplace of three of the world’s major religions.

Some important cities in the Middle East are Damascus (an ancient city), Jerusalem (the holy city), Istanbul (the twin cultural city), and Mecca (the holy and pilgrimage site for all Muslims). These historical cities are full of intricate architecture, warm people, and ancient culture.

There are metropolitan cities in the Middle East as well sich as, Tehran (in Iran), Baghdad (in Iraq), Dubai (in UAE), Tel Aviv (in Israel), and Beirut (in Lebanon). Here you can lose yourself in the cosmopolitan atmosphere. Most of the Middle Eastern countries are Islamic countries. That is why there is very little nightlife. However, you can have one of the most elegant dining experiences in the rooftop restaurants of these metropolitan cities.

Away from the noise and lights, you can spend your trip in peace. The Middle East presents you with some quaint, scenic sites. The Empty Quarter, the Dead Sea, Sea of Galilee, and Petra Palmyra are all natural attractions which can’t be missed.

It is up to you, whether to float in the Dead Sea or walk on sands of Empty Quarter. You can reach any of these countries on the short and cheap flights that operate within the region. You can  also rent a car to get around. Railways are cheap, but the connectivity is not that extensive. This is the area of the world where you will truly learn what an oasis really means.

You will get to indulge in rich the Ottoman culture. You will experience the history of the world’s ancient religions. But above all, you will know how Magnificent the Middle East is.
