Taxis are plentiful, safe and have reasonable prices. However, car hire is available at all major airports and big hotels for those who are over 21 years old. Roads are of a high standard, but cars drive on the left side of the road here, which can be unusual.
In Australia, they use electric sockets and plugs of type I, so bring an adapter. The standard voltage is 230V.
Australian culture is primarily western culture and English is the official state language. Its natives are a diverse group of Aborigines and other Oceania island peoples. It has a history of British colonization; however, various waves of multi-ethnic migration followed.
