Southern Africa lies between two giant bodies of water, the South Atlantic Ocean, and the Indian Ocean. T

hree countries in Southern Africa have a coastline including Namibia, Mozambique, and South Africa. In the north of this region of the continent are Angola, the Democratic Republic of the Congo and Tanzania. South Africa is the southernmost country.

Lesotho and Swaziland occupy a small area in Southern Africa. Namibia and Mozambique are on the far western and eastern coasts of Southern Africa. Namibia has Atlantic coastline, while Mozambique has Indian Ocean coast.

Botswana is in the heart of it all. To the east of Botswana lies Zimbabwe. In addition, Zambia is to the north of Botswana. Lastly, Malawi and its iconic Lake Nyassa are to the northeast of Botswana.

Places To Visit

Kruger National Park is the largest game reserve on the continent. If you’re lucky, you may catch a glimpse of “The Big Five”–the five most dangerous animals to hunt.

Enjoy the wildlife-rich area of Limpopo, and be sure to explore the incredible fossil caves. Gauteng is the museum hub of South Africa.

Take a relaxing ride along the wine routes of South Africa, and enjoy fantastic mountain views. Johannesburg was home to Nelson Mandela, and is full of tourist attractions, with everything from museums to boating parks.

Botswana boasts of a thriving ecosystem due to the Okavango Delta. Okavango Delta is also in the heart of Southern Africa. Furthermore, you must visit it to learn about its unique ecosystem.

Zimbabwe is a tourist-friendly country. It has diverse landscapes that allow for adventurous activities. Due to its coastline on the Indian Ocean, Mozambique is a champion with exotic tropical beaches.

South Africa is the most developed country in Southern Africa. The country has its fair share of tourist attractions as well. If you enjoy pampering, what better way than to buy yourself diamonds? Namibia is the best place on earth to buy top quality diamonds.
