Shimla’s home is amidst the green hills. This Indian city is a popular destination for couples on their honeymoon. In the hot, humid heat of the tropics, you might want to escape to a temperate climate like Shimla. During the hot months, the temperature remains at approximately 80 degrees Fahrenheit and 31 degrees Celsius. In addition, this city is close to the tourism trio: Delhi, Agra, and Jaipur.

Beautiful buildings, dating back to the era of British imperialism, surround Mall Road (main street). You can also take a ride on Cart Road, which will take you back to the time of Colonial rule in India. Mall Road is an amalgam of banks, shops, and galleries. While you are here, visit the rare Himalayan Snow Leopard at the Kufri Zoo.

Things To Do In Shimla

Walking paths wind through the meadows of Annadale and take you to quaint hamlets. During your visit, you can stay in local homes. Also, make a trip to the Wildlife Sanctuary. If you love trekking, you can hike up 10 kilometers to Tara Devi Temple. There you will enjoy a panoramic view of the beautiful valley surrounding Shimla.

Traveling with your family and friends can be challenging if you lack common interests. However, the Hip Hip Hurray Amusement Park just outside Shimla has a variety of adventurous activities for your gang. You can play golf, or go boating and rock climbing.

Wandering through the woods is ill advised in Shimla. You can contact Mountain guides who will take you on an exciting tour of the dense evergreen forests.

Jakhu Hills and Chadwick Falls are high above the town. From there the scene of the hill station below is just ethereal. On top of them are religious sites like Jakhu temple and old shrines. On a budget, travelers can seek hotel rooms in the Lower Bazaar, where the cost of living is cheap. Snap some pictures in the lush gardens of Viceregal Lodge- a remnant of the British Raj in Shimla.
