Nebraska is a state in the Midwestern United States. It is bordered by South Dakota in the north, Iowa in the east, Missouri in the southeast, Colorado in the southwest and Wyoming in the west. The capital of the state is Lincoln, but the largest city is Omaha (home to multi-billionaire investor Warren Buffet), by the Missouri River.

The state is situated on the Great Plains and has many historic trails cross it. It became the thirty-seventh American state in 1867 and was explored by the Expedition of Lewis and Clark.

Things to do in Nebraska

Omaha and Lincoln, the two largest Nebraska cities, are situated in the southeast of the state. Omaha is on the Missouri River, while Lincoln is surrounded by treeless prairies. Both cities offer their citizens and visitors a wide range of entertainment, both at day and night time. Museums, parks, sporting events – all these features are there to serve the different tastes of both locals and visitors. At night, they give you the great choice of concerts, art exhibits, comedy clubs, and so on. You are sure to have a great time in either of these cities!

If you prefer nature to the city, Nebraska also has a lot to offer. Breathtaking panoramic views, wide sight long prairies and sand dunes, vast wheat fields, beautiful mountain plateaus – all of that is in Nebraska. If you want to enjoy the fascinating view of Sand Hills, take Nebraska’s Highway 2, which was named one of “America’s 10 most beautiful highways” by Charles Kuralt, a CBS commentator.

The northwest of the state, known as the Panhandle region, is famous for its breathtaking landscapes and panoramic views, unique hiking trails and scenic byways. However, if you are looking for something special, then Toadstool Geologic Park is the right choice. It is like walking on the Moon – an experience you will never forget. You also cannot miss The Wildcat Hills State Recreation Area, if you are looking for something extraordinary and fascinating.

Nebraska is also a home for many historic parks and national monuments. Enjoy your visit!
