Connecticut has its name for the Connecticut River, which flows through the state. Active city nightlife, carefree casinos and the rustic life of quaint towns makes this state a diverse destination.
The state is situated in the northeastern United States. It borders Rhode Island to the east, Massachusetts to the north, New York to the west, and Long Island Sound to the south. The capital of the state is Hartford, but the most populous city is Bridgeport. Connecticut is the third smallest state in the USA. However, it is the fourth most densely populated.
To the northwest, you’ll find Litchfield Hills, an area both beautiful and sparsely populated. In autumn, you’ll delight in the golden hues of the season. South of here is Fairfield County, which is nearĀ New York. Bustling cities here include both Norwalk and Bridgeport.
In the heart of the north is the Connecticut River Valley. The population is comprised of many students. Hartford is the capital of Connecticut and is also located here. Greater New Haven is south and has a bohemian feel. It boasts both art galleries and theaters to entertain you.
Eastern Connecticut is a tourist hub. Here, travelers will find casinos, beaches, and scenery unlike anywhere else in the state. Greenwich is on the list of most liveable cities in the United States. Danbury has a classy collection of restaurants. Mystic has aquatic attractions. For visitors seeking a vibrant nightlife, Norwalk never sleeps. New Haven is an incredible place to lose yourself. Artists line the streets. You can also spend hours window shopping at its many quirky shops.
In addition to the beaches and casinos, this state is home to gorgeous gardens. Both Dinosaur State Park and Arboretum and Barlett Arboretum and Gardens offer the chance to get back to nature. Yale University is one of the oldest universities in the country and a must-see! There are many historical lighthouses here also, including Fort Trumbull, Fort Griswold, and Black Rock Harbor.
Calf Pasture Beach offers you a white sandy stretch of beach with a rich history. Both Mohegan Sun and Foxwoods are world famous casinos.
